At VENTHERIS ART, inspiration begins with the little things that make animals unforgettable—a curious gaze, a tilted head, or an expression that seems almost human.
The artistic journey behind our collection began in 2008 with oil portrait painting. Following an award at the fourth DESOTO vocational painting competition in 2016, that practice developed into a distinctive approach to painting pets, bringing together expressive character, rich color, and playful imagination.
Today, our paintings celebrate the companions who make everyday life brighter. From familiar pet portraits to unexpected interpretations of classic art, each piece invites you to pause, look closer, and smile.
Painted by Hand, Full of Character
We believe a portrait should capture more than an animal’s appearance. It should reveal a little of its personality—the mischief, gentleness, confidence, or curiosity that makes it special.
Our work combines bold color with visible brushstrokes and textured layers of oil paint. We use paints from established brands, including Winsor & Newton, together with canvas chosen for oil painting. The surface gives each brushstroke room to leave its mark, making texture part of the story.
Small variations in paint and detail are part of the handmade process. They give each painting its own character and bring a tactile warmth that can be appreciated up close.

An idea becomes a painting slowly: through a sketch, a choice of color, and layers of paint worked by hand. We build expression through these small decisions, paying attention to the eyes, the shape of the face, and the brushstrokes that bring fur and movement to life.
